Following this recommendation can help your body metabolise fat better, lose weight, and feel full quicker when eating. Furthermore, ice water actually takes energy to warm up, so you can lose up to 62 calories just by drinking ice water! It can’t get better than this.

Alcoholic Content of Various alcohol Beverages (beers, whiskies, wines, and more)

Alcoholic Content of Various alcohol Beverages (beers, whiskies, wines, and more) – and descriptions of whiskies.

Alcohol content is usually measured in percentage of volume (ABV, alcohol by volume), the percentage of volume times two (Proof), and percentage of weight (ABW, alcohol by weight).

In reality, the alcohol content varies greatly. This is due to the fact that while fermentation goes on, the rising ethanol concentration becomes increasingly toxic and eventually stops the fermentation process. A process of repeated distillation further increases the ethanol concentration, but this process cannot completely eliminate the water, and the maximum concentration is actually 191 proof (instead of 200).

While each make of alcohol varies in strength even if they are the same type, the following range would give you a good idea where your drink of choice lies.

While the precise alcoholic content of individual whiskies varies depending on the maker, the types of whiskies that exist are defined by the type of alcohol and addictives used. While Straight whiskey consists entirely of one kind, Blended whiskey is made by mixing two or more whiskeys of different ages, strengths, or flavors. Grain neutral spirits (distilled to 190 proof) are also added in US blends.

BMI Calculator, Standard Weight Tables, Overweight and Obesity Control

BMI, or Body Mass Index, is a common way of determining a person’s weight relative to his or her height. It is useful to estimate the standard weight for a given height, and figuring out the degree a person is overweight or underweight.

Although it is highly controversial, the BMI is most accurate in relatively sedate individuals with an average body composition. As modern individuals approach the first stereotype more and more, with the advent of cars and close-to-home utilities, the BMI would be more and more useful.

Furthermore, if your body composition deviates from the standard (say if you have a hulkload of muscles), do not worry if your BMI index indicates you’re overweight. Chances are – you’re not.

Here is a calculator to calculate your BMI:
